I2T NTP Stratum 1 Server

ntp.i2tv6.ehu.es (IPv6 only)

The I2T research group offers to the Internet community a public NTP Stratum 1 server that is reachable through IPv4 and IPv6. This service has been announced in support.ntp.org website for public usage and forms part of the pool.ntp.org project.

The server is a Pentium III PC with a GPS Motorola M12 Oncore as refclock. The software that it runs comes from free software projects: FreeBSD (OS), ntpd (NTP server), Gnuplot (server statistics), ...

2009-12-09 Server is up again. Christian.
2009-12-08 Server is down. After updating FreeBSD to the latest release, 8.0p1, ntpd crashes when it tries to boot and use an Oncore reference clock. The bug seems to be has been repored several weeks ago (http://groups.google.com/group/mailing.freebsd.current/browse_thread/thread/ed5a85934d33e305). Christian.

Access Policy

The service is primarily intended to be used by Stratum 2 time servers; client systems should avoid using this service whenever possible.

Users of this service are not required to send us a notification email.
